Draughn and Madison are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Draughn is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
Draughn barely beat Owen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats blew past the Warhorses 11-3 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Griffin Stephens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Draughn's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 6-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Mull, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Draughn is undefeated when Mull posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chase Yambor, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Mull wasn't the only one making solid contact: Draughn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Madison hadn't done well against North Henderson recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Knights 8-7.
Madison saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Shelton, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Draughn pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Madison, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Draughn hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Madison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
