The McCallie Blue Tornado lost against the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. McCallie took a 65-49 bruising from the Buffaloes. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as McCallie came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 40th in Tennessee, while the Buffaloes are ranked 173rd in Kansas).
Despite the loss, McCallie still got an impressive performance from Kaleb Gallman, who scored 18 points. Kenneth Chime was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
McCallie has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. As for Sunrise Christian Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.
McCallie will stay at home for another game and welcome the Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Cade Murphy and Parker Robison. Sunrise Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Thunderbirds on February 10th.
