The Lake Catholic Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Sunday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Harvest Prep, falling 85-50. While losing is never fun, Lake Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Harvest Prep is ranked 157th).
When it comes to explaining why Lake Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Peyton Budrys rini. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Budrys rini pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cross Nimmo, who scored 13 points.
Harvest Prep was led to victory by Adonus Abrams and Khalil Daniels. Abrams scored 21 points along with five steals, while Daniels scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Daniels scored 15 or more points. Brandon Roddy was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Lake Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Harvest Prep, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Catholic will take on Trinity at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Eric Snow and Budrys rini. As for Harvest Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge Dublin Jerome at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
