The Central Christian Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-34 to West Florida Baptist Academy. Central Christian found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 9 on offense.
Central Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lydia Lentz, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Hayek, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.
West Florida Baptist Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Makenna Enfinger out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for Enfinger. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Pearce, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds.
Central Christian's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jones Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against East Hill Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
