Monache had won two straight road games and Cooper Baxter did his part to make it three on Friday. The Marauders blew past the El Diamante Miners 49-6 with plenty of help from Baxter, who rushed for 247 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Monache, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Baxter, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Monache didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyson Harrington and Gryphen Speck. Speck got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Monache's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for El Diamante, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
