The Glens Falls Indians waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 65-61 W over Scotia-Glenville. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Glens Falls' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Darielle Gooden, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gooden has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Frances McTiernan, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Scotia-Glenville saw an underclassman step up: Sierra O'malley scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Acosta, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Glens Falls has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Scotia-Glenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glens Falls will take on the Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Scotia-Glenville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Witches at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th.
