Basketball Recap: Jabari Washington Key Part of a Team Effort in Colonels Win

Plantation won the last time they faced McArthur and things went their way on Monday too. The Plantation Colonels came out on top against the McArthur Mustangs by a score of 73-63.

Plantation's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jabari Washington, who posted 24 points and five boards. The contest was Washington's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Prince Lewis, who earned 19 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

When it comes to explaining why McArthur lost, don't look at Joshua Barber. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Barber is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Jonas Bonannee was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Plantation is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for McArthur, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Plantation will square off against Stoneman Douglas at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stoneman Douglas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Plantation likes a good challenge. As for McArthur, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-57 victory against West Broward on the 14th.
