The Winslow Black Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Mount View Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Winslow has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 12.
On Tuesday, Winslow took a serious blow against Oceanside, falling 98-37. While losing is never fun, Winslow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Oceanside is ranked second).
Meanwhile, Mount View came up short against Lincoln Academy on Tuesday and fell 53-42.
Winslow dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Mount View, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
Winslow was taken down by Mount View 66-27 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Winslow avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
