The Omaha Northwest Huskies suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Lincoln Southeast at home and fell 83-43. Omaha Northwest has not had much luck with Lincoln Southeast recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Omaha Northwest still got an impressive performance from Chiok John, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that John posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontae McDowell, who scored ten points.
Omaha Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lincoln Southeast, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Omaha Northwest will head out on the road to take on Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buena Vista is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Lincoln Southeast, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lincoln High at 7:30 p.m. Lincoln High will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Lincoln Southeast is ranked 53rd).
