The Southwestern Piasa Birds scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 67-35 victory over Dupo at home. With that win, Southwestern brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Ian Brantley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Southwestern's points. Rocky Darr was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Southwestern pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Dupo, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Southwestern and Maryville Christian will round out the year against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. As for Dupo, they will take on SIUE East St. Louis Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
