The Elmwood Park Tigers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They strolled past Walther Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 56-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Elmwood Park also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Elmwood Park got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Angelo Bernard out in front who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Manuel, who scored 14 points.
Elmwood Park's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Walther Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elmwood Park and Niles West will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Niles West presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Elmwood Park in Illinois (Niles West is ranked 208th, while Elmwood Park is ranked 598th). Walther Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Islamic Foundation at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th.
