After a 61-47 finish the last time they played, the Burroughs Burros and the Lancaster Eagles decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Burroughs escaped with a win on Tuesday against Lancaster by the margin of a single free throw, 1-0. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Burroughs has scored all season.
Lancaster lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abayomi Suulola, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds. Suulola is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keelan Benjamin, who scored six points along with three steals.
Burroughs' victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Lancaster, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Burroughs will be playing at home against Barstow at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lancaster won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Quartz Hill at 6:30 p.m. on December 6th. Quartz Hill is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61 points per game.
