The Weatherford Christian Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 60-41 to Fellowship Academy. Weatherford Christian has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Rhyia Ray continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fellowship Academy, scoring 31 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ray has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Libby Hamblin, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Weatherford Christian's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Fellowship Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weatherford Christian will take on the Lions at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fellowship Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Chargers at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. Trinity comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last 11 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
