Northwest is 2-8 against Rossview since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Northwest Vikings will look to defend their home court against the Rossview Hawks at 6:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Northwest has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Rossview will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Northwest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-51 to Kenwood.
Meanwhile, Rossview made easy work of Springfield on Tuesday and carried off a 75-49 victory. Given Rossview's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Springfield is ranked 274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Landon Hankemeier, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cameryn Ward, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and five steals.
Northwest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Rossview, they pushed their record up to 17-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
