The Savannah Classical Academy Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a rough 63-41 defeat at the hands of Montgomery County. Savannah Classical Academy has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Montgomery County found their leader in underclassman Jaquez Kelly, who scored 18 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kelly has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jakobe Mobley, who scored 16 points.
Savannah Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Montgomery County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Savannah Classical Academy and the War Eagles will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Jenkins County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 319 points over their last five matchups. As for Montgomery County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Claxton has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 2.
