Basketball Recap: Blackford Skates Past Cowan with Ease + How To Watch

Blackford won the last time they faced Cowan and things went their way on Monday too. The Bruins blew past the Blackhawks, posting a 64-18 win.

Blackford found their leader in freshman Olivia Murphy, who shot 53% from the field on her way to 23 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Janelle Slusher was another key player, putting up eight points and eight steals.

Blackford was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cowan only posted two.

Despite the defeat, Cowan had strong showings from Savannah Hall, who posted seven points and 12 boards, and Alyssa Stevens, who scored a point. Hall is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

The victory got Blackford back to even at 1-1. As for Cowan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Blackford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-47 defeat against Fort Wayne Wayne on the 11th. As for Cowan, they will square off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
