The Buckeye Central Bucks are taking a road trip to challenge the Carey Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Things were looking good for Buckeye Central after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Seneca East by a score of 8-7. The Bucks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Megan Siefert made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoebe Rafferty, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carey, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Colonel Crawford with a sharp 10-3 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their one-run performance the game before.
Tylinn Stoll made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Danika Hanna was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bayah Harsanje, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Carey pushed their record up to 12-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Buckeye Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
Buckeye Central's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Bucks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Carey, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Buckeye Central continue to outrun the ball?
