Football Recap: Southeast Career Tech Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ke Kameehonua and Leyla Randolph

If Southeast Career Tech was feeling good fresh off their 26-0 takedown of Las Vegas last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners fell 19-7 to the Shadow Ridge Mustangs on Thursday. The Roadrunners haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Southeast Career Tech had strong showings from Leyla Randolph, who rushed for 100 yards on only 13 carries, and Ke Kameehonua, who rushed for 103 yards on only 14 carries. That's the most rushing yards Kameehonua has posted since back in January.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southeast Career Tech was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shadow Ridge only rushed for 72 rushing yards.

A big part of Shadow Ridge's win came down to the chemistry between Aubree Davis and her top target Jaylani Palmer. Davis threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns while Palmer picked up 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Southeast Career Tech's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Shadow Ridge, the victory (which was their eighth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Southeast Career Tech has already played their next contest, a 34-0 win against Western on the 6th. As for Shadow Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 26-6 victory against Mojave on the 6th.
