Makhi Jones had a dynamite game for Crestview, scoring 32 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of Crestview's points. Lorenzo Blackwell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Fort Walton Beach's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Jones, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Ivison, who scored 11 points.
The win got Crestview back to even at 1-1. As for Fort Walton Beach, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview will play host again and welcome Gulf Breeze, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Walton Beach, they will be playing at home against Booker T. Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Booker T. Washington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Walton Beach in Florida (Booker T. Washington is ranked 39th, while Fort Walton Beach is ranked 384th).
