The Timnath Cubs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Weld Central 12-7. Timnath lost against Weld Central in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 47-17 score last time.
Despite the loss, Timnath still got an impressive performance from Vince Hochhalter, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.
The critical scores for Weld Central came from Rhett Peake and Marcello Rossi.
Timnath's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Weld Central, Arvada, and Wellington. As for Weld Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-4.
Timnath will look to defend their home field on October 27th against Brush at 7:00 p.m. As for Weld Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Arvada at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Arvada is ranked 152nd, while Weld Central is ranked 148th).
