The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets will take on the Whitmer Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Perrysburg sitting on ten straight victories and Whitmer on three.
Perrysburg had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Findlay on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Bella Click looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hayley Griggs was incredible, firing off three home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-5. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yesenia You, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Perrysburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Whitmer duked it out with Whiteford on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 12-0 victory. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Alexis Stoldt was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Stoldt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashley Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Raegan Lapoint was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Perrysburg's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Whitmer, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Perrysburg hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.3 home runs per game. However, it's not like Whitmer struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Perrysburg took their win against Whitmer in their previous matchup on April 7th by a conclusive 14-3 score. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
