Baseball Recap: Morton Wins Going Away Against Forest

Morton barely beat Forest the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers never let the Bearcats get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Friday. That 16-run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Tristen Hobson and Mikey Craig did most of the damage at the plate: Hobson got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Craig got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jimmy Kincaid was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Morton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive matchups.

Morton's victory bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Forest, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-8.

Morton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
