Gibbs has gone 6-1 against Alcoa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Alcoa will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Gibbs extended their winning streak to eight on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Anderson County.

The team relied heavily on Malyiah Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddi Whaley, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Gibbs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in ten consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alcoa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They never let William Blount get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their matchups with the Governors: they've now won four in a row.
Not much got past Kaylea Osborne, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep William Blount off the board.
On the hitting side, Alcoa let Dylan Jablonski and Kara Pitts run wild. Jablonski went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Pitts scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That home run was Jablonski's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Halle Bailey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Gibbs' win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Alcoa, their record now sits at 14-3-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gibbs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .434. However, it's not like Alcoa struggles in that department as they've averaged .418. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gibbs skirted past Alcoa 11-9 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
