After a string of three wins, the Hillcrest Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Oak Cliff. Hillcrest has struggled against South Oak Cliff recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Hillcrest still got an impressive performance from Jed-ethan Nansha, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Nansha is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kurt Thomas, who scored ten points along with three steals and two blocks.
Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for South Oak Cliff, they pushed their record up to 15-10 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home.
Hillcrest will take on Sunset at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hillcrest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for South Oak Cliff, they will head out on the road to face off against Molina at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Oak Cliff is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Texas (they are ranked 273rd, while Molina is ranked 1165th).
