Even though the Lincoln Leopards have not done well against the Lakeside Knights recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lincoln came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeside and snuck past 53-50. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lincoln.
Lakeside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reece Remus, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Remus hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorden Schoen, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Lincoln's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Lakeside, they dropped their record down to 6-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will challenge Natoma on Friday. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to challenge Osborne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Osborne will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
