Two Rivers recap October 29, 2013
University extended the longest winning streak in Two Rivers this week by beating Preston, 28-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Hawks.
Brooke took down Weir 55-28 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Wheeling Park's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zach Phillips threw for 154 and 2 touchdowns and Michael Grove had 41 yards receiving. On the ground Savion Johnson contributed 156 yards. Johnson helped Wheeling Park's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 47 yards.
Johnson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 156 yards on 20 carries as the Patriots beat Steubenville. Phillips also contributed to the rushing game with 80 yards on the ground.
Wheeling Park's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Phillips has thrown for 1,070 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Eric Banks has 28 catches for 485 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between University and Morgantown. John Kelley's team enters the contest ranked 11th in the state, while the Mohigans ranks fifth.
