Tyler is 8-2 against St. Marys since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Tyler will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Valley on Wednesday. The Knights blew past the Lumberjacks 10-0. Considering the Knights have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Reese Davis and Brayden Neff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Davis pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Neff pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Neff scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Davis also put up a triple, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Tyler let Brennon Miller and Landon Boggs run wild. Miller scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Boggs scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those three hits gave Miller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colby Nichols, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, St. Marys got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. They had just enough and edged out Wirt County 5-3.
Desmond Parks and Brady Rinard did most of the damage at the plate: Parks scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Rinard went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. St. Marys is undefeated when Parks posts two or more runs, but 1-10-1 otherwise.
St. Marys was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Tyler's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for St. Marys, their record now sits at 4-10-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tyler has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Marys struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Tyler's way against St. Marys in their previous meeting on April 1st, as Tyler made off with a 14-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
