Layna Demers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Arissa LeBaron was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Shelby Southard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Southard was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.
Southard wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Evoleht Stuhr, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rochester hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366.
