The Highland Park Scots had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Pearce 45-20. Considering Highland Park has won four matchups by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Pearce's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Presley Harper, who threw for 419 yards on 29 of 47 attempts, and also punched in two rushing scores. Jack Mcgarry was another key contributor, picking up 135 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Highland Park's victory was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.45 points. As for Pearce, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Highland Park will look to defend their home field on Friday against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. Arlington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 354th, while Highland Park is ranked 70th). Pearce does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
