Even though the Chevak Comets scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, the Hooper Bay Warriors still came out on top. Hooper Bay greeted the New Year with with a 76-61 victory over Chevak. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hooper Bay also won the last time the pair played last Thursday.
Carson Long continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Hooper Bay's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Latrell Lake , who scored 15 points.
Hooper Bay's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Chevak, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Unalakleet the next time they take the court. Chevak will head out to face Unalakleet at 9:00 a.m. on January 26th, while Hooper Bay will host them at 9:00 a.m. on February 9th.
