The Coolidge Colts will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights at 7:00 a.m. on December 19th. Coolidge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 483 points over their last seven matches.
Last Wednesday, Coolidge faced Dunbar in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coolidge came out on top against Dunbar by a score of 73-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Coolidge relied on the efforts of Makiah Gray, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, and Quintin Cooper, who scored 27 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The game was Cooper's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eric Turner, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Friendship Collegiate Academy beat DC International 48-40 on Monday. The win was just what Friendship Collegiate Academy needed coming off of a 85-65 defeat in their prior game.
Friendship Collegiate Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaiden Williams, who scored eight points along with four steals. Williams is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaron Joseph, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Coolidge's record now sits at 5-2. Friendship Collegiate Academy's record is now 2-6.
