The Green Hill Hawks will be home for the holidays to greet the Independence Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Green Hill came up short against Wilson Central and fell 45-35.
Meanwhile, Independence's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The matchup between Independence and Lee wasn't particularly close, with Independence falling 52-35. While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 213th in Tennessee, while Lee is ranked 65th in Alabama).
Green Hill bumped their record down to 5-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Green Hill strolled past Independence in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 55-41. Will Green Hill repeat their success, or does Independence have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
