The Bridge Creek Bobcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 40-10 loss at the hands of Blanchard. Bridge Creek has struggled against Blanchard recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Blanchard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Cooksey led the charge by throwing for 195 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. McHale Howell and his 100 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Blanchard's win.
Bridge Creek's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 Tuttle and 6-2 Bethany (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58% over those games). As for Blanchard, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bridge Creek will take on Tecumseh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Tecumseh is ranked 115th, while Bridge Creek is ranked 118th). As for Blanchard, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bethany at 7:00 p.m. Bethany is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
