Softball Recap: Tolono Unity Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Tolono Unity entered their tilt with Fisher on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bunnies a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Rockets have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Danika Eisenmenger looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Sophia Beckett was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindy Bates, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Tolono Unity kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Tolono Unity's record now sits at 16-3. As for Fisher, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tolono Unity will head out to face off against Prairie Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fisher, they will venture away from home to take on Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bunnies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
