Basketball Recap: Foundation Academy Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

South Lake came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Foundation Academy, but Alex Nichols wouldn't allow it. The Foundation Academy Lions enjoyed a cozy 72-56 win over the South Lake Eagles on Tuesday thanks in part to Nichols, who went 10 of 17 on his way to 29 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jovan Severe, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points in addition to five assists and five steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

Foundation Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for South Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foundation Academy will challenge Central Florida Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Florida Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Foundation Academy likes a good challenge. As for South Lake, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eustis at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Lake has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three matches.
