Lebanon extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-7 in the process. They lost 12-2 to the Corvallis Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 on Monday.
Zane Cox made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
As for Corvallis, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Corvallis' side, Axel Prechel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Prechel has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Weiss, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Lassiter, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Coming up, Lebanon will take on Dallas at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Corvallis, they will face off against Silverton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Foxes will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
