Rowe hasn't had much luck against Vela recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Sabercats at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
If Rowe beats Vela with 49 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Warriors blew past Rio Grande City 49-21 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Rattlers: they've now won four in a row.

Alexander Lopez Negrete had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 133 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jose Jimenez helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Rowe's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Rio Grande City's side was Dante Rodriguez, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles.
Meanwhile, while Vela put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Juarez-Lincoln. The Sabercats breezed past the Huskies to the tune of 52-0. That 52 point margin sets a new team best for the Sabercats this season.
Vela's win came from a few key players Rowe will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was George Fauls, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristian Cortinas, who rushed for 41 yards and a pair of TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vela was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Vela, racking up 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Caidyn Hoover, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Rowe's record is now 4-2. As for Vela, their record now sits at 5-1.
Rowe suffered a grim 40-14 defeat to Vela when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Warriors, Geoffrey Creighton Lefevre (who threw for 393 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, and also punched in two rushing scores) won't be suiting up this time.
