The Comanche Indians will face off against the Eastland Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Comanche has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Comanche blew Breckenridge out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Breckenridge got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Buckaroos by a score of 11-9.
Cassandra Rangel made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Xandra Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 22 runs the game before, Eastland was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Peaster, falling 11-1. The loss continues a trend for the Mavericks in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost nine in a row.
Eastland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myla Huffman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Comanche's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Eastland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Comanche hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Eastland struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Comanche was able to grind out a solid win over Eastland in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 12-8. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
