Wakefield is 9-1 against Heritage since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Wakefield is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
On Thursday, Wakefield got the win against Millbrook by a conclusive 16-5. Considering the Wolverines have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kensley Harrison made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Harrison was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Aniela Piscorik looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Emily Fernandez was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Brianna Riehle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Wakefield lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millbrook didn't launched any home runs.
Meanwhile, Heritage fell victim to Wake Forest and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Emily Claudio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Heritage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Callahan, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Callahan's first of the season.
Wakefield's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Wakefield's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Wolverines have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Heritage, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wakefield continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Wakefield's way against Heritage in their previous meeting back in March, as Wakefield made off with an 11-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
