Jacob Barber's Rushing Yards a New Career-High
Starting off the list is Southwest's Jacob Barber, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Thursday Barber rushed for 230 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Southwest now has a winning record of 3-2. Barber and Southwest will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 3:00 p.m. on October 18th.

A Season-Best Effort from Jordan Scoville Leads Sumner-Eddyville-Miller over Wauneta-Palisade
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller was led to victory by Jordan Scoville, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Scoville rushed for 197 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 66 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.incredibly, Scoville got all that yardage with just one huge grab
Scoville is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Paxton on Friday. When Scoville last faced the Tigers back in October of 2023, he rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.

While Joe Eakins delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Paxton. Nobody could stop Eakins as he picked up 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown.
The defeat snapped Paxton's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. Eakins and Paxton will venture away from home to face off against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

Ashtin Johns Dazzles in Wallace Win
Ashtin Johns was instrumental in extending Wallace's winning streak to four on Friday. Johns did his part (and then some), rushing for 151 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for seven yards and a touchdown for the 'W'. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 151 rushing yards dating back to last season.
For the year, Johns has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 140 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he had one rushing touchdown.

Billeter Made His Presence Known in Southwest's 51-20 Win
The second Southwest player making an appearance here is Houston Billeter, and for good reason. He threw for 167 yards and four touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
Billeter and Southwest will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 3:00 p.m. on October 18th. Billeter will face off against Chance Daake, the Mustangs' star quarterback. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.
