Baseball Recap: Thompson Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Thompson came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood Mavericks 9-1. Considering the Tommies have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on William Welke, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since May 3rd. The team also got some help courtesy of Dex Avdem, who went 2-for-3 with four runs.

Thompson's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-2.
