Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Maranatha Minutemen walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rough Riders a 6-0 shutout on Friday. Maranatha might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight games by three goals or more this season.
The victory (which was Maranatha's seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven matches. As for California Military Institute, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7-3.
Maranatha will square off against Kaiser at TBD on Tuesday. Kaiser is coming into the matchup with six straight victories on the road, so Maranatha is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. California Military Institute does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
