Sumter Central has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Brewbaker Tech Rams at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Sumter Central beat Thomasville 41-28.
Meanwhile, Brewbaker Tech's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They took down Booker T. Washington 45-30. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, as Brewbaker Tech did.
Brewbaker Tech's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Martin, who scored 12 points along with three steals and three blocks. Martin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedi Mcghee, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Sumter Central's record is now 4-6. Brewbaker Tech's record now sits at 8-12.
