AAAAAA Region 4 recap Nov. 7, 2012
McEachern extended the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 4 this week by beating Harrison, 61-21. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Indians.
North Cobb was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Marietta. The Warriors came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
South Cobb's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Malik Carter threw for 37 yards and Ryan Sumner had 32 yards receiving. On the ground Chauncey Ingram chipped in 93 yards. Ingram helped South Cobb's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
Thanks to the talents of Stephon Masha and Ingram the Eagles have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Masha leads the league in passing with 1816 yards, while Ingram has rushed for 882 yards this season. The Hoyas' Drevon Jones leads the league in receiving yards with 607 on 36 catches.
Entering into this week's contest against Pebblebrook, Masha is short just 184 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hillgrove takes on McEachern. The Hawks are in fifth place, while the Indians are in second place.
McEachern took down Harrison 61-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
