The Archbishop Hoban Knights suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of McKinley by a score of 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samuel Greer, who scored 19 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Greer has scored all season. Jonas Nichols was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Archbishop Hoban's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for McKinley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Archbishop Hoban will head out on the road to square off against Walsh Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKinley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Lake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 516th, while McKinley is ranked 91st).
