The Mechanicsburg Wildcats will face off against the Northern York Polar Bears at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mechanicsburg 4, Northern York 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Mechanicsburg will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Mifflin County on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 11-7.

Gino Coleman tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has become a key player for Mechanicsburg: the team is 8-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Jager Nailor was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Eli Reider, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Northern York ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past West Perry 5-4.
Northern York also got a great performance from Ambrose Depasqua as he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Matthew Kendall, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Oskar Dees was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Northern York is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Mechanicsburg, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7.
