Meanwhile, Veritas Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They escaped with a win against Atlantic Christian by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38.
Veritas Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Milanesi, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Milanesi is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Jetton, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Kearny Christian Academy dropped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.
