The Heavener Wolves suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 73-45 defeat at the hands of Pocola. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Heavener in their matchups with Pocola: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Heavener lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryce Morrison. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with two steals. Zaid Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Heavener's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Pocola, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Heavener will be playing in front of their home fans against Wilburton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pocola, they will head out on the road to face off against Talihina at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Talihina is on a three-game streak of home wins, Pocola a 11-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
