The Valor Christian Eagles stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Columbine 75-47 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Valor Christian sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Valor Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Jones, who shot 6-for-11 from long range and dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Quinn Vansickle was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with five steals.
Despite the defeat, Columbine had strong showings from Jordyn Washington, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Emily Allison, who scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks. Washington hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games.
Valor Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Columbine, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
Valor Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Cherry Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Valor Christian is coming into the matchup with eight straight wins at home, meaning Cherry Creek will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Columbine, they will head out on the road to take on Ralston Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
