Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Bloomington North Cougars, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 44-31 to Bloomington South on Friday. Bloomington North's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Bloomington North's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dash King, who threw for 435 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and Jorian Brooks who picked up 229 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Brooks' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Cole Grupenhoff also helped out as he racked up 108 receiving yards.
It was another big night for Jarrin Alley, who threw for 220 yards and six touchdowns. Alley hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Gavin Adams, who rushed for 190 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
Bloomington North's loss dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Bloomington South, their victory was their fifth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Bloomington North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bloomington South will head out on the road to face off against Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seymour will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Bloomington South is ranked 12th).
